My name is Laura, and welcome to my blog.
I’ve started this blog as a way to record my thoughts and ideas as I move through exploring sustainability from different perspectives. I feel that we, as a global family, have lost touch with what is truly needed to maintain our status quo on Earth. We’ve made a big business of “greening” the planet, and while this is a great step, it leaves me wondering if it’s really the right direction. While spending habits are changing (picking “better” products) we still seem to be in a race for gathering the most “stuff”.
During 2012, I’m challenging myself (and my family) to change some of our habits, among other lofty goals I have set for myself.
Personally, I’m married with two crazy kids. C is 5 and a lego addict & M is 4 and a princess who loves to get muddy. I work out of the home full time, and strive to make sure that my kids know where their food comes from, why we recycle & compost and teach/encourage them to love and respect the world around them. Yes, I’m channeling my hippie-granola crunchy self here…but well, it’s where my roots are.
Thanks for joining me, I hope you stick around
